The Creation of a Tree

My tree is getting happier now. She is taking shape and is beginning to get in touch with her sexuality.... she is understanding that she is a woman, growing out of corrugated, peanuts, mache, plaster and more, made with loving and adept hands, as her curves and undulations are now beginning to appear.

She will need a name to give her spirit and life so that she may become what she is intended to be....the playful fantasy that is ever changing....

But for now, She will have to wait until I see what unfolds next for her on her journey in progress, as life is a journey to be experienced with all your heart, full of intent.

She will have much more to encounter in her growth. If you look at the top left hand side of the tree as you are facing it, you will see a strip near the top....that is where her foot will be when it is dry and ready. There are two feet ready to place onto her shape, to give her the upward stretch for the branches and the rest of her entangled species. For a close up view of her toes, see below....

The Bark

So take a close look at the bark of this tree...it is beginning to look a bit like some Erotica may be taking shape.....

If you cannot see the implied people and
other shapes within the bark....you need to work on your deviant factor!

The Tree is Coming to Shape

OK, so I am not a great blogger but wanted to post the pictures of this in progress, as I am going to attempt to create an artist's book of the entire project.

The tree is happily stuffed with it's peanuts, and is acquiring an interesting texture as I am working. Purple paint is drying until I can get back to work.

Next post has two detail pictures of it today!

Ode to a Purple Tree?!?

That wonderful purple color is the color my guest bath was---walls and popcorn ceiling....a gift from the previous tenants. But perhaps my tree will like it?

But problems arose in the beginning. That wonderful rolled corrugated did not like how wet it became and started to sag and take on its own shape to the point that it nearly buckled in two. So again, I am under the corrugated, as it is undulating, sagging, and getting me covered in purple as well. So I let it sit and be obnoxious in its own world for a while....

And it is at this point that My Muse arrived....The Styrofoam peanut bag that was nearly five foot tall and at least 30" in diameter. So.....hmmmm.....STUFF THE TREE!!!!!

OH boy....the corrugated has a mind of it's own!

The tree must have roots an a trunk!!!! This is the foundation of my tree. Not much in this picture, is it?!? This is actually how it looked last week Rather plain and unassuming. Very lonely and uninspired as well. That goes for the tree and my personal state of mind. To tackle this project and make something as sensuously inspired as my tree paintings are is a monumental transformation.

The rolled corrugated needed to be glued and taped just to stand on its own....well at 42" high it could still stand.....but if you look at the photo, you can see how very fragile it is already becoming. Taping it and curving it, cutting it and splicing it, with the corrugated falling back on me, toppling over and then, just when I would think I had it in position, it would collapse or snap apart, and I would have to start over with its erection. Ever try to get a hollow tube to stand fast and hard?!? It's mind just was not into it. It and I needed a muse and My Muse had yet to arrive!

My Muse Arrives....

I have taken on a more than complex as well as time consuming endeavor....that to create a tree for the Erotica Show in Ormond Beach at the end of September. As I am known as "The Tree Lady" by much of the art community who have frequented the Nudes Gone Wild, Fast and Furious and Nude Nite Orlando shows where I have been involved, this tree is the ideal vehicle for my Erotic Fantasy Art.

Needless to say, I got a rather late start on my tree...encountered a creative block, searched for the materials I needed to use, and finally...today....it is beginning to take shape.

So where did it all begin????? With the idea of creating a fantasy tree which, hopefully, will be interactive, If you haven't seen my erotic, er I mean sensuous, tree paintings, well you will just have to search for them on the net!

Today, to my complete surprise, my Muse arrived! And, as you never can tell when and where the Muse shall strike, My Muse came in the form of a rather large bag of Styrofoam peanuts! I have been surprised in the past by who and what My Muse was, but this one was a complete shock. As I placed the bag into my work area, we felt an immediate connection. The blobenly shape definitely needed my creative fantasy thoughts and gentle hands to be molded into what it so desired to be. The transformation could now begin!

Besides the peanuts, I amassed a roll of corrugated cardboard, regular flat cardboard, paper mache pulp, plaster cast material and cotton sockinette fabric. Then I went on a hunt in my garage for useless stuff that my tree would find much pleasure in having for its own.
